Rev. Stephen A. Green is the Senior Pastor of Heard AME Church, Roselle, New Jersey, “The Community Church”. Called to spread God’s Love to all people, Rev. Stephen A. Green strives daily to live courageously through his commitment to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God.
As one of the nation’s youngest leading human and civil rights activists, Rev. Green previously served as the National Director of the Youth and College Division of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the nation’s oldest, largest and most widely respected grassroots civil rights organization. In this role, he oversaw an army of more than 30,000 young activists across 800 active youth councils and college chapters throughout the nation. While serving the NAACP, Rev. Green led the “Stay Woke and Vote” civic engagement campaign in partnership with grammy-award winning artist Chance the Rapper to engage thousands of young voters across the country. Through his commitment to non-violent direct action, Rev. Green has engaged in civil disobedience that led to arrest in Chicago, IL, Roanoke, VA, Washington, DC, and most notably Mobile, AL.
Rev. Green received the Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Morehouse College and a Master of Divinity from The University of Chicago. He is a proud life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and serves as their National Millennial Social Action Chair.
